Dear friends
At the National Executive Committee meeting in Kota, the NUJ(I) had decided to take up some issues concerning the journalists boldly and aggressively. A massive demonstration has been planned in New Delhi during the winter session of Parliament demanding enactment of Journalists Protection Act, Constitution of Media Council, Media Commission, better working conditions for journalists etc.
Meanwhile, we have received a request from the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) informing that November 2 is the ‘UN Day against Impunity on Crimes Against Journalists’ andNovember 23 has long been marked by the IFJ and other media rights organisations as Day Against Impunity.
The NUJ(I) and DJA will start this campaign on November 2, 2015 at its office at 12.00 noon to discuss the strategy to hold a massive rally during the winter session of Parliament in first week of December.
You are cordially invited to attend this meeting and give your valuable suggestions for enactment of the specific law for protection of mediapersons.
